Curious about writing or illustrating a children’s book? This free two-part adult workshop, taking place July 30 and August 6, is led by an award-winning author and illustrator Lindsay Barrett George, who has 18 published picture books, is perfect for aspiring storytellers of all backgrounds. Over the course of two 90-minute sessions, you’ll explore the essentials of crafting a successful picture book. Learn how to develop strong characters, write engaging openings, and master plot, pacing, and the rhythm that makes children’s books memorable. For more information, click here.

Doodle Me Big with Lindsay Barrett George

What if your doodle could come to life bigger than ever? In this imaginative, hands-on two-part workshop, taking place August 13 and August 20, participants will transform their original character sketches into oversized 3D paper “pillows”! During the workshop, participants will piece together their oversized printed doodles, then cut, stuff, and decorate them to create their very own large-scale, three-dimensional characters! Everhart Express to the American Museum of Natural History

The Everhart is pleased to announce the next edition of Everhart Express bus trip series as we head to the American Museum of Natural History in New York City! The Everhart Express is a hassle-free excursion to some of the world’s finest museums and cultural attractions, all within a day trip of Scranton.  The cost includes the bus trip to NYC and tip for the driver, admission to American Museum of Natural History, and admission to an extra ticketed exhibition Space Show Encounters in the Milky Way, where we’ll explore the dynamism of the worlds in our solar system, and the unique conditions that make life on Earth possible.
