WVIA Wednesdays at the Everhart: News Listening Tour

Join us for the fourth installment of WVIA Wednesdays at the Everhart as we present the first “News Listening Tour.” During this event, members of the WVIA News Team will meet and discuss the area’s most important stories with community members. Stay tuned for registration to open at https://www.wvia.org/events.
WVIA Wednesdays at the Everhart is a free monthly screening series programmed in partnership with WVIA Public Media especially for senior citizens. One Wednesday afternoon per month, a PBS documentary tied into the Everhart’s mission of natural history, science, art, and humanities will be screened in the Museum’s galleries.

Journalists from our news team will be present and open the floor to community members to discuss things going on in the area that they feel deserve more news coverage.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we’ll be screening one of our own locally produced documentaries featuring the founder of the Philadelphia Ballet.

April 9 at 2:00 p.m.– WHAM-Re-Bop-Boom-Bam: The Swing Jazz of Eddie Durham
In celebration of Jazz Appreciation month, we’ll be presenting a special screening of another WVIA original doc chronicling the life of Jazz musician Eddie Durham.
May 7 at 2:00 p.m.–Aging in PA Presentation
This project aims to highlight what life is like for aging residents in our area.
June 11 at 2:00 p.m.–”Agnes 50: Life After The Flood”
In observance of the 53rd anniversary of Hurricane Agnes reaching our area, we present WVIA’s documentary highlighting the historic flood and its lasting effects on the community.
