The Office Exhibition

On view through October 2027

Celebrating Scranton's connection to a show that became a cultural phenomenon.

In 2005, television audiences were introduced to a fictional paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and a cultural phenomenon was born.

The Office didn’t just put Scranton on the map — it etched it permanently into the hearts of millions as the home of America’s favorite comedy series.

Opened in 2025 to mark the 20th anniversary of the series, The Office Exhibition is a first-of-its-kind exhibition that honors that remarkable connection. Featuring original props, interactive experiences, exclusive behind-the-scenes stories, and a nostalgic walk through all nine seasons, this immersive experience explores the story of The Office through the lens of Scranton, from its fictional representation on-screen to its real-life celebration by fans around the world.

The Everhart Museum is honored to celebrate the unique, legendary bond between Scranton and America’s favorite workplace comedy.

A city that became a character in the show. A museum located in the heart of that city.

Presented in the 118-year-old Everhart Museum located inside the City of Scranton’s scenic Nay Aug Park, this 2,600-square-foot installation combines original props, interactive experiences, exclusive behind-the-scenes stories and a nostalgic walk through all nine seasons of the series.

But it’s more than an exhibition–it’s an experience designed to feel personal, fun, and welcoming for visitors of all ages. It’s a love letter to the fans, the city, and the series that continues to warm our hearts.

This exhibition is made possible by financial support from the City of Scranton, Lackawanna County,
and the Lackawanna County Visitors Bureau.

How did The Office Exhibition come together?

The exhibition concept was initially discussed in May of 2013 in a conversation that show creator Greg Daniels had with current Everhart Museum CEO Tim Holmes and Scranton architect Michele Dempsey during The Office Wrap Party, which Holmes and Dempsey co-chaired.  As the weekend was wrapping up, Greg mentioned that there was a nice assortment of props and wardrobe in storage should Scranton ever find a suitable space for an exhibition.

In late 2023, when Holmes was named CEO of the Everhart Museum, he reached out to Daniels to let him know that they had found the perfect space.  Daniels’ response was immediate and reflective of his continued support of Scranton: "Nothing would make me more proud."  With that, planning began to open the exhibition in 2025 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the show's first season.
