Join us for the second annual Everhart in Bloom Community Day, a fun-filled day coinciding with the Electric City Flower Show at Nay Aug Park! Enjoy a day of free admission, exciting activities, and entertainment for the whole family as we celebrate the start of summer.
Whether you’re coming with friends, family, or just yourself, there’s something for everyone at Everhart in Bloom Community Day. We can’t wait to see you there!
What’s happening?
(All activities take place from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted.)
- Live Music: Get ready to groove! Enjoy lively tunes by Doug Smith and the Dixieland All-Stars as they bring their unique blend of jazz and Dixieland favorites to the event.
- From Page to Play: Meet the Artist: Join acclaimed children’s book illustrator Lindsay Barrett George whose exhibition, Turtles, and Bunnies, and Mice, Oh My! is on view June 5 through August 31, for interactive activities, from spontaneous doodles to creative prompts designed to spark young imaginations.
- Face Painting: Watch your little ones light up with joy as our talented face-painting artist of Happy Faces, Face Painting turns their imaginations into reality with vibrant colors and intricate designs.
- Rock and Mineral Demonstrations: Dive into the fascinating world of rocks and minerals with geologist Steve Carter of Penn Minerals, who will showcase a variety of geological wonders.
- Beehive Exhibit: Get to know all about the Everhart beehive, how bee colonies work, and how to care for them from Clum Family Farm.
- Arts and Crafts: Let your creativity flow with our interactive arts and crafts station, where Museum volunteers will guide you through fun and imaginative projects.
- Photo Booth: Strike a pose and capture the fun of the day by stepping into the Freez the Moment photo booth.
- Brooks Mine Tours: Enjoy a free tour of the Brooks Mine, located directly behind the Everhart, courtesy of the Underground Miners.
- Electric City Flower Show Photography Competition: Check out our display of photo competition entrants, and vote for your favorite.
- Resource Tables: Enjoy fun activities and get some awesome takeaways from the City of Scranton and Abington Community Library.
