The Everhart Museum and Funny Wine Girl present Galentine's in the Gallery, an evening of wine, chocolate, and stand-up comedy on Thursday, February 6. Celebrate the spirit of Valentine's Day with your gal pals by enjoying the hilarious comedy of Funny Wine Girl Jeannine Luby, Micki Orlowsky, and Emily Epstein White. Everhart Uncorked

Join us Saturday, November 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for Everhart Uncorked, an evening of fine art, fine food, and fine wine. The evening will transport guests to the hills of Tuscany through a delectable four-course dinner, curated by Larry Nicolais, Jr. of Constantino’s Catering, paired with wines selected by acclaimed local wine importer Fred Magnotta. All will be set to a backdrop of fine music and art. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on a variety of exciting items and experiences available through a live auction and take home a bottle of top-shelf wine through a special cork pull raffle. Proceeds from this unforgettable event support the Everhart’s mission of providing experiences in natural history, science, and art to people throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania and beyond. Leonardo da Vinci Screening at the Everhart

He was an inspired artist with scientific curiosity and the imagination of an inventor. Go inside the mind of a genius. Leonardo da Vinci, a new film by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns and Dave McMahon, debuts on PBS Nov. 18-19. But first, WVIA is offering a free preview screening Wednesday at the Everhart on Nov. 13 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.. The special screening at the Everhart is the kickoff of a new WVIA Wednesdays at the Everhart screening series, programmed especially for senior citizens. While this event is free to attend, you must register in advance by clicking here as space is limited.

Herbert Simon Opening Reception

The Everhart Museum is pleased to host a special opening reception for Herbert Simon: Sculptor… Painter… Printmaker… Master, a retrospective of the versatile artist’s life’s work, which is on view November 21–February 16 in the Museum’s Main Gallery. The evening highlights Simon’s career and this culminating exhibition through remarks and an opportunity for attendees to meet the artist. Thanksgiving Week Kickoff Yoga with Mindy Hill

Whether you’re looking to relieve stress due to a crazy November or due to anticipation of a crazy holiday season, Mindy Hill will help you to ease your way into Thanksgiving week. Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude, and your body will be grateful for a nice yoga session featuring fluid movement, vinyasa, and twists. Underground Railroad Talk with EJ Murphy

EJ Murphy, Project Coordinator for the Waverly Community House’s Destination Freedom: Underground Railroad Walking Tour of Waverly will host talks to coincide with the Everhart’s new exhibition Through the Darkness to the Light: Photographs from Along the Underground Railroad, on view through January 5, and WVIA Wednesdays at the Everhart: Harriet Tubman. Murphy, an educator and public historian from Scranton, PA, will discuss the Underground Railroad as it pertains to the local history of Northeastern Pennsylvania, an important stop on the way from the American South to Canada. Snow Much Fun Community Day

Celebrate the fun festivities of winter at the third annual Snow Much Fun Community Day at the Everhart Museum! Join us on Sunday, December 8 as we revel in the season by celebrating the holiday traditions of cultures around the world. The event features free admission to the Museum from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and enjoy free activities, crafts, live music, and much more from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.! Through a variety of hands-on craft stations, explore the joys of the holiday season as you participate in activities that highlight the significance of different cultural celebrations. From making paper Matryoshka dolls for the Russian New Year, to creating paper diyas for Diwali, to designing paper kinaras for Kwanzaa, each station offers a unique opportunity to learn and engage with diverse traditions.
