guided experiences at the museum

Immerse yourself in history, art, and science through our guided experiences! Children and adults alike will gain a more in-depth knowledge and understanding of all the Everhart has to offer by joining us for our specially-curated experiences

  • Interested in bringing a group?

    Please reach out to book your guided tour two weeks in advance of your desired tour date. 


    Tours may be scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday. 


    Each guided tour is designed for a minimum of 10 people and a maximum of 15 people. Anything more than 15 will require an additional docent and the group will be divided into two smaller groups while touring the Museum. 


    All guided tours are 90 minutes in length. 


    One week prior to the tour, you will receive a tour confirmation email and an invoice which needs to be paid the day of your visit via cash, credit card, or check. We ask that you send an official head count of participants at least one week prior to your tour. 

  • Tour Cost

    Tours are a flat rate of $7 per person including chaperones. Group tours booked by Museum members receive a 15% discount off total cost.

    The Everhart Museum has partnered with the Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program which allows us to provide free guided tours for public schools. If you are a teacher or school interested in participating in this program, please inquire about this option.

    The World Around Us: People, Places and Things

    This tour allows for groups to explore portraits, still lifes, and landscapes in a variety of different mediums throughout time, examining how artists express their ideas and feelings about the world around them through art-making processes.

  • Tour 2

    Everhart Unveiled: An Exploration of the Museum’s Collections

    This tour takes groups on a journey through the natural and artistic history of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Learn about artistic conceptions of prehistoric natural history, and discuss scientific discovery through scientific illustrations; identify unique physical traits of birds; compare several artists’ perspectives as represented in their works; and explore the region’s coal history.
