VIRTUAL PROGRAM SCHEDULE

In celebration of Art in Bloom week and the first day of spring, the Everhart Museum will offer a series of floral-inspired virtual programs on Saturday, March 20th between 10:00a to 4:00p. Art in Bloom virtual programs will premiere on this webpage beginning at 10:00a.

Programs will be available to view throughout Art in Bloom week (March 20-28)

10:00a- Floral Arranging with John Mackey

John Mackey retired but is still creating! John spent his career creating amazing displays from various unique materials and fresh flowers. In this class, he uses a combination of different florals to create a simple, yet elegant centerpiece, for any event. John will demonstrate techniques on how to make an arrangement at home, even one you can divide up and send home with your guests!



11:00a- Decorating a Botanical Cake
with Camille Reinecke

In this demo, Camille will be demonstrating some of her favorite techniques for decorating cakes with handcrafted floral and botanical elements. Camille will use edible ingredients like colorful buttercream frosting and marshmallowy fondant to create the decorations. She will then demonstrate how to incorporate these decorations into the design of a cake and will detail the materials and tools needed to try this at home!


12:00pNature-inspired Paint Party LIVE! with Leana Pande

Looking for a fun, family-friendly activity to do at home? Join Leana LIVE for a nature-inspired paint party for all ages!

The supplies needed are listed below:
-watercolor paper (any brand/ weight. Watercolor paper is ideal)
-1 larger round watercolor brush
-1 small round watercolor brush for detail
-Watercolor paints



1:00p- Floral Patterns and Designs Used in Indigenous Cultures with Frank LittleBear

First Nation Indigenous tribes have always incorporated various aspects of their environment in culture and visual arts. Join Frank LittleBear and take a closer look and just a few of the ways these patterns and symbolism have been used.




2:00p- Plant Press Demonstration with Stefanie Colarusso

Join Director of Programs and Events, Stefanie Colarusso, for a demonstration on plant pressing and preservation. Stefanie will give a quick talk on the Everhart Museum herbarium collection, followed by a plant press tutorial using materials easily found around the house.

3:00p- Floral Fusion Mixology with Camille Dantone

This class will provide you with the skills on how to use bar tools to your advantage when it comes to enhancing your cocktails. Be prepared to mix, sip and have fun!
