Veterans Day 2007 marked the 25th anniversary of the dedication of the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial in Washington, DC. In honor of this special event and as a complement to the Vietnam exhibitions which were on display at the Everhart, the museum presented “The Wall That Heals (TWTH),” a half-scale replica of the memorial. This dramatic replica was installed in Scranton’s Nay Aug Park for free 24-hour/day viewing for five days. An estimated 14,000 people visited Nay Aug to view this powerful memorial, which lists more than 58,000 names of people killed or missing in action. A Traveling Museum and Information Center, providing a venue for people to learn about friends and loved ones lost in the war, accompanied TWTH. The Everhart is grateful to everyone who helped make this event possible.
