Everhart Museum at the Farmers’ Market (September 16, 2011)

The Everhart Museum was at the Scranton Cooperative Farmers’ Market on Friday, September 16th for an afternoon of educational demonstrations and hands-on activities focused on locally grown and produced foods. The programs took place on-site at the Market located at 356 Lawall Street in Scranton

Beginning at noon and continuing until 7:00 pm, activities included programs about canning & preserving, grilling, and floral arranging as well as food-related topics such as nutrition, diet, and good health. The afternoon featured a children’s corn husking contest and a square dance demonstration by Susque Squares & Danjo Wheelers. Throughout the afternoon medical experts were on site to do blood pressure checks and answer health/diet related questions and much more.
