On Saturday, April 23rd, the Everhart Museum will host Enchanted Earth: Birds & Land, a free community event in celebration of Migratory Bird Day and Earth Day. The Museum will offer free admission throughout the day, in addition to hosting plenty of interactive activities and workshops from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm. Guests will get an up-close look at birds of prey from the Endless Mountain Nature Center sponsored by the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority. The day will also include exhibit tours, professional artist workshops, and guided nature walks throughout Nay Aug Park.
The event will also celebrate the re-opening of the newly renovated Galleries 12 and 13, made possible by the Robert Y. Moffat Family Charitable Trust. In commemoration of Scranton’s 150th, the Everhart Museum will open a special exhibit, Some Enchanted Lands: the Paintings of John Willard Raught, the first recognized regional landscape artist from Northeastern Pennsylvania.
