Join the Everhart Museum on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in celebration of International Migratory Bird Day as we explore the birds that make fantastic journeys and the rich history and story-telling surrounding them.
International Migratory Bird Day is a world-wide event in celebration and support of migratory bird conservation. The Everhart Museum’s program marks our 4th year of participation and features many artists and presenters with activities for visitors of all ages.
Hands-on activities and tours include:
Avian Adaptations by the Lackawanna College Environmental Institute
Birds as Symbols Tour by the Scranton Cultural Center
Storytelling with Karen Slachta
Bird Books with Lindsay Barrett George
as well as other hands-on crafts and guided tours of the Museum’s extensive bird collection!
SCHEDULED PROGRAMS INCLUDE:
1-2 pm:
Conservation of Rare Species
by the Woody Acres Avian Conservation Eco-Center
2-3 pm:
Painting Nature with Earl Lehman
Can Birds Talk? with Lindsay Barrett George & Mary Belle Gilroy
3-4 pm:
Raptors Rule
by the Endless Mountains Nature Center
