FARM TO TABLE premiered in September 2011 as a new fund raising event for the Everhart Museum. This annual event focuses on a celebration of fall harvest in the Northeast Pennsylvania by consuming foods grown and produced in a 100-mile radius. By eating locally we support the regional economy and the agricultural heritage of our community.
September 18, 2015 marked the 5th year of this event. Chef Cliff Daniels of Epicurean Delight worked with Doug & Craig Pallman of Summit Harvest who sourced produce from local growers such as Overlook Farms and Covered Wagon Produce. Meats were provided by No Bull Ranch and dessert was made by Truly Scrumptious Cake Studio. On tap was local beer from Susquehanna Brewery and selected small vineyard wines. The resulting menu featured the best in-season ingredients and was served “family-style” at communal tables in an outdoor setting as the museum grounds were transformed into an up-scale country fair by Duffy Tents & Events.
The evening featured a country-style arcade area with games of chance, as well as a marketplace with award-winning homemade preserves by the Museum’s executive director, Cara Sutherland, local honey gathered by Catherine Hynes, eggs from chickens raised by Everhart board member Ken Marquis, and an exclusive autumn scented candle – Everhart No. 1 – produced by NOTE Fragrance of Scranton. Farm to Table attendees had the opportunity to sample (and purchase) homemade Sunday Sauce created by Pat & Carlon Preate, as well as bid on “wet-paint” art created by Michael Sorrentino!
