Join us for an evening at the Watres Armory with artist Hunt Slonem. An intimate group of 19 will join the world-renowned artist for a tour and dinner at the Armory. The evening is sure to be a magical experience unlike any other.
Built in 1900 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Armory is Slonem’s latest project that showcases the artist’s novel take on interior design—matching vibrant, multicolor interiors with a bricolage of historically potent and rare items found from around the world. This system of “collectorating,” or collecting and decorating, has become Slonem’s trademark and can be found across the artist’s multiple historical properties around the country.
The menu for this event has been created by Chefs Cliff and Dave Daniels of Epicurean Delight.
Slonem will be signing copies of his newly released book about the Watres Armory, Gatekeeper: World of Folly (2018) at the Museum on Saturday, September 29. Gatekeeper walks readers through the 102,000-square-foot masterpiece room-by room, object by object. For information can be found HERE.
Dinner at the Watres Armory is a fundraising event for the Museum and supports an exhibition of Hunt Slonem’s work which will be on display September 28 – December 31. A preview artist’s reception for the exhibition will be held at the Museum on Thursday, September 27. Tickets are available, more information can be found HERE.
