Frequently Asked Questions

Photography

Photography and video is not permitted unless by prior arrangement. Please contact us to discuss your request.

Exhibitions

Exhibition proposals are reviewed on an on-going basis by the Everhart Museum’s Curatorial Department. Use the Exhibit Proposal Form in order to have your proposal considered for display. If you are including work samples, slides, CDs, or other materials, please include a stamped, self addressed envelope if you would like your materials returned. Please do not send original material as the Everhart Museum accepts no responsibility for materials lost or damaged. Please note that the Everhart Museum receives many exhibition proposals each year so we would encourage you to contact a number of venues for your proposed exhibition. For additional information or should you have difficulty downloading the Exhibit Proposal form, please contact the Curatorial Department.

Valuation

The museum does not provide valuations for work. We recommend that you obtain valuations from reputable sources such as the American Society of Appraisers (www.appraisers.org), Appraisers Association of America (www.appraisersassoc.org), International Society of Appraisers (www.isa-appraisers.org), or at major auction houses.

Conservation

The museum does not conserve artworks and recommends that you always use reputable, skilled and accredited conservators. The American Institute for the Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIP) is a national organization which registers conservation professionals. The organization provides a free guide to conservation services on its website (aic.standford.edu). The Regional Alliance for Preservation (RAP) is composed of regional conservation and preservation centers and will offer advice and referrals (www.rap-arcc.org).

Donation of Works

The museum does occasionally accept donated works for accessioning into the permanent collection. All potential donations are assessed against our collection policy to determine their suitability. Please contact the Curatorial Department if you have any queries or wish to donate a work.

Sale of Works

The museum is a not-for-profit institution that does not sell works.
