November 3, 2011                                             Rosen Method, 2:00 to 3:00 pm

Rosen Method is an easy movement program designed to increase range of motion, improve flexibility, and ease breathing. Gently using all the joints, this exercise was developed to prevent difficulties and help people age gracefully. Admission is free to Everhart Museum members, $6/class for all others. Participants must pre-register for the course and class size is limited. For more information or to register please call 570-346-7186 or email education@everhart-museum.org.

 

November 5, 2011                                             EverhART 101, 10:30 am to Noon

The Everhart Museum presents another fun-filled season of art-related classes inspired by our exhibits and permanent collections. Taught by Keystone College students in the Art Education Dept., children in grades K-5 will meet on four consecutive Saturday mornings for art activities.  Each week they will work in a different media: drawing, printmaking, painting, and sculpture. The cost for four sessions is $16 for Everhart Museum members and $20 for non-members. November 5, 2011                                             Bag-A-Badge, 1:00 to 4:30 pm

Hone your scientific knowledge and skill, and have fun creating clever games while you earn your “Engineering” (for Webelos) and “Games, Games, Games” (for Bears) badge! Taking inspiration from the Everhart’s Around the World and American Folk Art Galleries, Cub Scout Webelos and Bears will complete the requirements for a badge in one afternoon. Please note that the badge is not provided and participants will need to obtain that from their troop leader. Fee is $12/child and includes a snack. Pre-registration required. November 7, 2011                                             Early Explorers, 1:00 to 1:45 pm

Join the Everhart Museum, the Lackawanna County Children’s Library, Scranton Cultural Center, and area artists for museum-based whole-child learning in literature, the arts and natural sciences. November 7th program features visual art with Aleta Yarrow in the Fine Art Gallery. This program is free and suitable for Pre-K children (age 3-5). Pre-registration is required and groups are welcome. Early Explorers is funded in part by PNC Bank. Students in grades 4-6 will meet after school to create with master artists across all art disciplines: visual art, music, storytelling and dance. The Everhart Museum’s rich and varied collection will be a springboard for inspiration and the November 7th program features visual art with Aleta Yarrow. Enrollment is limited and preregistration for the entire series September 26th through November 14th is required. November 24, 2011                                           EVERHART MUSEUM CLOSED FOR HOLIDAY

The Everhart Museum and Offices will be closed on Thursday, November 24, 2011 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The Museum will be open for regular hours on Friday, November 25 and throughout the holiday weekend. Monday, Thursday, and Friday, Noon to 4 pm
Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm
Sunday, Noon to 5 pm

Closed January for routine maintenance.
