March 1, 2012                                             Rosen Method movement, 2:00 to 3:00 pm

Rosen Method is an easy movement program designed to increase range of motion, improve flexibility, and ease breathing. Gently using all the joints, this exercise was developed to prevent difficulties and help people age gracefully. Set to music and held in various galleries throughout the museum, Rosen Method movement is a fun way to find well-being in a social, dance-like atmosphere. Rosen Method movement is held on Thursdays from 2:00-3:00 pm. Admission is free to Everhart Museum members, $6/class for all others. March 3, 2012                                            EverhART 101:  10:00 am to Noon

The Everhart Museum, in partnership with the Art Education students of Keystone College, presents another fun-filled season of art-related classes inspired by our Winter exhibit, Posing Beauty. Students in grades 5-8 (ages 9-10 to 13) will meet on four consecutive Saturday mornings and be introduced to techniques in contemporary digital photography. The cost for four sessions is $16 for Everhart Museum members and $20 for non-members. Pre-registration is required and class is limited to 12 participants. Join the Everhart Museum, the Lackawanna County Children’s Library, Scranton Cultural Center, and area artists for museum-based whole-child learning in literature, the arts and natural sciences. This program is free and suitable for Pre-K children (age 3-5). Pre-registration is required and groups are welcome. Early Explorers is funded in part by PNC Bank. March 7, 2012                                            Everhart Wonder Club at the Dietrich, 3:30 to 5:00 pm

What makes you special? How is everyone different and everyone beautiful? Let’s take a look at our outside and celebrate the beauty on our inside too! In this course, students in grades K-6 explore figures, portraits, and the self with a different art medium each week. March 7th class focuses on drawing. Classes will take place at the Dietrich Theater in Tunkhannock and pre-registration is required. Learn about science, nature and the environment while you earn your “Geology” (for Webelos) or “Share Your World With Wildlife” (for Bears) badge! Taking inspiration from the Everhart’s Galleries, Cub Scout Webelos and Bears will complete the requirements for a badge in one afternoon. Please note that the badge is not provided and participants will need to obtain that from their troop leader. Fee is $12/child and includes a snack. Pre-registration required.
