The Everhart Museum will host a free day for Lackawanna County Library System card holders on August 5 from 1:00 -4:00 pm. Activities include ongoing tours of the rocks and minerals gallery between 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm with a kid’s activity book on rocks and minerals to follow. At 3:00 pm, there will be a concluding presentation of photographs by artist Leela Baikadi, followed by a lecture by glaciologist Jonathan Walton, sponsored by the Lackawanna County Library System.
About Jonathan Walton
Jonathan first visited Antarctica in 1973 – and didn’t leave until 1976. To date, he has a total of 11 Antarctic summers and 2 winters, all well South of the Antarctic Circle. He has worked a number of seasons for the British Antarctic Survey as Glaciologist, Surveyor, and General Assistant.
