ˈvo͝ondərˌkämər/ noun
a place where a collection of curiosities and rarities is exhibited.

Come participate in a specialized tour with the curator of the Everhart Museum! Our Curator, Nezka Pfeifer, has created four unique wunderkammer programs that will open up a view into the special rarities the Museum has collected over its 110-year history.

The wunderkammer program allows visitors to get up close and personal with a curated selection of natural history pieces paired with art objects, and scientific materials. In the tradition of Cabinets of Curiosity, our wunderkammer tours integrate pieces from our permanent collection into conversation with temporary exhibitions and programs being held at the Museum. The tours offer an exclusive look at pieces from the collection that are currently off-display.

The first wunderkammer will showcase ceramics, and will be held in conversation with our temporary exhibition of artist John Kascht’s caricatures. The second tour will focus on the world of plants and our herbarium collection. The third will center on our international textile collection. Finally, Nezka will complete our quarterly Curator’s Tours with a look at our insect collection.

Please join us for this series of exploration and education that includes some of the most intriguing pieces from our collection.
