The Everhart is proud to host the Breaking Ground Poets Poetry Slam, taking place on Saturday, April 6 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. During this slam, area high school students will face-off against each other, delivering original poetry written by the participant.
Interested poets between the ages of 13 and 19 years old are encouraged to contact Katie Wisnosky at firstname.lastname@example.org in order to register to participate.
The Breaking Ground is a volunteer-run organization rooted in the belief that through storytelling, positive reinforcement, and educational programming we can build a stronger generation of readers, writers, and thinkers.
Breaking Grounds Poets seek to create opportunities for local youth to build self-confidence through free monthly open mics, poetry slams, the dialogue arts festival, and writing workshops. They believe in cultivating safe environments for self-expression to create positive engagement between youth leaders and their community.
